OGC Pilot Projects

• Collaborative efforts apply technology implementing OGC specifications to real world: "collaborative, hands-on engineering and testing project designed to deliver proven specification/technology"

CGDI Pilot Use Cases

• Distributed publishing of Geobase Framework data, from provincial sources (this will be done via WFS servers)
• Portal access to WFS data (this will be done via WFS client and may also include a catalogue/discovery function)
• Catalogue capability (done using CSWspec.)

GeoConnections objectives:

• To test and report on the viability of WFS servers implementation, identifying issues to be addressed in an operational environment (performance, data vloumes, etc.)
• Assess/validate operationalization of distributed access to framework (Geobase) data
• To promote collaborative development and testing
• Enhance/support partnerships GeoConnections/CCOG partners/Geobase/OGC Inc.
